Recent approvals on two projects and a new County Attorney

The Clifton Park Town Board approved a resolution this month to approve an agreement with Prime Engineering to provide consulting work on the new Highway Garage Project. Quickly having this agreement in place, follows through on our commitment to make this project a priority. The new building will replace the garage destroyed by a fire on August 17, 2021. On January 10, 2022, the Town Board passed a resolution directing the Highway Superintendent to begin the process of design and construction of a new building. Upon recently realizing no meaningful process had been accomplished at this point in time, I convened a committee of professionals representing the following functions of Town operations: Planning, Zoning, Stormwater, Code Enforcement & Fire Safety and Buildings Maintenance. These professionals should be involved with the project at the beginning stages since each segment of represented operations will play a role in the construction of the new garage. The Town Board committed to make this project a priority and make up for the time lost by the inaction of the Highway Superintendent. The committee is also reviewing other possible infrastructure improvements that may be incoroporated into the plan. Below is the recently passed resolution and the resolution from January of 2022.

In business conducted at the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors this month, the contract for construction of the new terminal building at the County Airport was awarded to LeChase. I recently posted pictures of the demolition and general beginning phases of the project. As a member of the committee overseeing the Airport improvements,, I am pleased with our progress as we work under a very tight timeline. A new County Attorney was appointed as well. Congratulations to George Conway! George has a great deal of private sector and governmental experience that will serve him well in the new position. I look forward to working with you George!
